Day 8: Laredo to Guemes

Said my goodbyes to John and departed Laredo at 7.30.

Met these guys at the start of the beech.

Laredo is  on a 5km long  beech on one side backed by accommodation. With an inlet behind that. 

I hiked out along that and had great views back to Laredo and of the sun rise. 

It started raining so put on my poncho for first time. At the end of the beach caught the fairy to Santona. 

Had a quick breakfast and set off for Guemes. There was a lot of road walking on this route and mainly just through farm land. It was quite different from the hilly terrain we had seen in the last week. You can see the contrast here this is looking back east, farmland in the foreground and the hills behind are what we walked over and round.

Before arriving in Guemes

The Auberge that I’m staying in is highly rated in the guide. They provided lunch, with some wine and coffee and even a digestive. We have a talk before dinner tonight at 7.30pm. I didn’t think it would be busy but there are 20 odd bags here on the veranda, bags and walking boots are not allowed into the rooms.
