Camino De Norde 2023: Day 15: Llanes to Ribadesella (11th April 2024)

Yesterday we flew to Bilbao, I arrived at 10.00, John didn’t arrive to near 16.00. We then jumped on a bus to Llanes that took 3.5hrs. Made it in to town for food and beers at 22.00.

We departed this morning at 8.30 from Llanes. After a whole 0.75km we stopped for breakfast. Weather is a perfect 18C.

It was very beautiful coastal walk with a mixture of beech’s and small farms. We even came across an avocado farm.

We stopped for Coffee by a fad beech at 11.30. We then continued on to Nueve where we had a large lunch, that was a mistake. The last 5 kms were hard as it worked out 2.5km longer than we expected. There was no big climbs but was fairly undulating and over 32.25km we managed to 2000m of elevation.

We were quite stiff when we finished but nothing a few beers would not nullify.

Great days walk and currently it looks like the longest day is behind us. Tomorrow is a mere 21km.
